bisto "new adventures"

Produced by Carl Gover (Animation Partnership) and directed and animated by David Parvin. The agency - DMB&B, London - discovered in the archives of Bisto, a film used in the 1930's for cinema advertising of their product.

The brief was to re-create the historic feel of the new film to match the discovered source material. Produced in the days before digital video compositing techniques were available, this presented quite a challenge. The camera "weave" and projection flicker were painstakingly animated by hand and shot on 35mm film at Rostrum Cameras by cameraman Roy Lacey. Roy never forgave us for that!

The live action was shot by Bryce Atwell and the animation and live action were combined at Complete Video in London on ONE INCH TAPE.
