Produced by Carl Gover (Animation Partnership) and directed and animated by David Parvin. The agency - DMB&B, London - discovered in the archives of Bisto, a film used in the 1930's for cinema advertising of their product. The brief was to re-create the historic feel of the new film to match the discovered source material. Produced in the days before digital video compositing techniques were available, this presented quite a challenge. The camera "weave" and projection flicker were painstakingly animated by hand and shot on 35mm film at Rostrum Cameras by cameraman Roy Lacey. Roy never forgave us for that! |
The live action was shot by Bryce Atwell and the animation and live action were combined at Complete Video in London on ONE INCH TAPE.
