Sohat was produced for The Oakes Partnership, London. The brief was to create an artistic and painterly representation of nature and the changing seasons. The region shown is Lebanon.

The entire production was completed in eight weeks. We used a traditional rostrum camera multi-plane effect with multiple passes to create the changing weather conditions and light.

Whilst we were not attempting to be photo-realistic, our brief required that there was a more sophisticated visual approach than would have been used for cartoon animation.

For the end shot, we had to shoot water falling into a glass at 300 fps.
